A: I purchased the HP 17m-ce0013dx. When I scan the QR code that is stuck to the laptop, it tells me I have a 1TB 7200 rpm hdd. When I call HP and give them the model number AND the serial number, they tell me I have a 1TB 7200 rpm hdd. Device manager says I have a the 512 ssd with optane memory, which I have physically verified. I was finally told by HP that some of these laptops were shipped with the 1TB hdd and some with the 512 ssd.?? What's up with that? I was able to successfully install a additional 1TB ssd to my laptop after finding a compatible ssd cable on Amazon. Something that is not available through HP or known to exist by anyone at HP that I talked to.
A: There are two slots and both are taken. This laptop has 12 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB, 1 x 8 GB). You can upgrade to a maximum 32 GB RAM (16 GB per slot).

A: You're right, normally that makes no sense. SSDs do not usually get combined with Optane. However, this is a new type of Optane/SSD product which combines BOTH on a single PCIe M.2 card. The 512GB SSD with 32GB Optane is correct.
Q: Can you turn off the web cam
A: Yes here is a switch on the computer to disable the webcam. This is the only laptop I have seen with a quick external disable toggle switch . Nice!
