“HP specs this SKU as 1 TB w 12 GB RAM. BB Fact Tag says 512 SSD w Optane memory. Is Optane compatible with SSD or does this also have a HD ? Very interested in response ChuckNH”

I purchased the HP 17m-ce0013dx. When I scan the QR code that is stuck to the laptop, it tells me I have a 1TB 7200 rpm hdd. When I call HP and give them the model number AND the serial number, they tell me I have a 1TB 7200 rpm hdd. Device manager says I have a the 512 ssd with optane memory, which I have physically verified. I was finally told by HP that some of these laptops were shipped with the 1TB hdd and some with the 512 ssd.?? What's up with that? I was able to successfully install a additional 1TB ssd to my laptop after finding a compatible ssd cable on Amazon. Something that is not available through HP or known to exist by anyone at HP that I talked to.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.In the past, SSDs did not get combined with Optane. However, this is a new type of Optane/SSD product which combines BOTH on a single PCIe M.2 card. The 512GB SSD with 32GB Optane is correct.
