After careful research, I decided to purchase this HP printer, as both my PC and Laptop are HP. It was delivered to my home with care and on time. It was super easy to unpackage and set up. The app was very easy to download from the Play Store and even easier to use. I love the ink tank feature. The cartridges for my old, cheap printer were very expensive and didn't last as long as I thought they should. My HP Smart Tank 5001 prints perfectly from my phone, my laptop, and my PC. It prints, copies, and scans flawlessly. It is very quiet while operating. It fits perfectly under my desk in my very small home office. I even purchased a printer stand to get it up off the floor and for easier reach. I am anticipating years of trouble-free service from this printer.

Went with USB connection as my Modem was old and not strong enough for the connection which was fine Took a Little bit to Figure as Im Old School But I got it working ..The Ink lasts Forever for Me Im an Ebay seller and Print Mostly USPS Shipping Labels..I definitly Recommend This Product Had not had a Printer In Years The Last one From Dell Used Cartrideges too Often when it iworked,,The HP Is Fantastic!!

I've been using the HP Smart Tank 5001 for a couple of weeks now, and I'm impressed by the simplicity of this printer. The standout feature of this printer is the ink system—the printer takes large quantities of ink and uses a clever bottle system that allows you to fill the tanks without spilling a drop. Based on the amount of ink included with the printer, I don't expect to be buying more anytime soon. Setup is easy and it's no-frills. Take the printer out of the box, take off a minimal amount of packing tape, cardboard shipping supports, and the plastic piece that protects the slots for the printheads, and plug it in. From there, I used the HP app on my phone to begin configuration. The HP app walks you through the entire initial setup, including connecting to Wi-Fi, filling the ink tanks, and installing the printheads. All in all, it took about 10 minutes from opening the box to printing the first page. One thing that I really appreciated was the ability to use the printer without setting up an HP account or connecting it to any online subscription services. Once connected to Wi-Fi, all of our devices were able to see and print to the printer without any special setup. We have printed from our Macs, Windows 11 PCs, and iOS devices without the need for downloads or complicated driver installs. Print quality is very good. We're long past the days of counting pixels on a typical inkjet printer, and for everyday printing this machine does a great job. My wife printed a large number of color pages to laminate for her classroom, and the colors were vibrant on both plain paper and cardstock. Even after all of her classroom preparation, we couldn't see a noticeable decrease in the ink levels, which are conveniently visible through the tanks on the front of the printer. I also looked into the cost of consumables for the future, and they're very reasonably priced. Replacement bottles of black and color ink, as well as replacement printheads, are all priced around $23–$25 MSRP each. HP states that the included ink can last around three years with average printing volume, and based on how little ink we've used so far, that seems entirely plausible. All in all, if you're looking for a straightforward, no-frills printer with low running costs and an enormous supply of ink, the HP Smart Tank 5001 should be near the top of your list.

HP SmartTank 5001 printer bears a sleek and minimalistic design. The package includes liquid ink that needed to be filled in the onboard tanks. Hp claims it is worth up-to 3 years, depending on the standard use. The color ink is just enough for one tank while the black ink is extra and can be refilled again. Build quality: I like to slaty gray color and minimalistic design. It has only printer cable port and no ethernet connection, no USB port, WIFI connection is inbuilt and should enable this printer for wifi connectivity and network printing – IF WIFI WORKS, (I am coming to that one later in the review). The set process was real pain. The setup was through hp smart app and through wifi option. I have owned hp smart printer in the past and was expecting a smooth setup process but that was not the case. I tried several times and every possible option to troubleshoot the connection/setup process for wifi but everything FAILED. I contacted the hp support their engineer also tried using remote login my mac to setup this printer using hp smart app but it was failed to set up, we tried using phone setup- failed. What surprises me that even the USB connection set-up suing hp-smart app failed. The hp engineer concluded that the printer wifi chip or whole connection module was faulty and they offered a replacement. Letar on I again tried using USB cable but using the mac system dialogue to add printer. It worked and the printer was set up, but note here it is still not recognized in the hp smart app still, and the wifi is not working. My conclusion is that based on my experience that the issue was with both the printer wifi and the hp smart app to set up the printer. Print quality is good and it takes straight feed and good for photo printer which I like the most. The printer lacks inbuilt double sided print option. Paper loading is on the back and print comes out from front. Both loading and print trays can be folded – a cool feature. The scanner scans quality is crisp – I am still using mac system dialogue for the printing and scanning. Since this printer was not recognized in the hp smart app, I am unable to comment on those features. Overall, I like the minimalist design and good quality print and scan. I wish hp has added an ethernet port. As the sleek size does not permit it to have double sided printing feature and copy feed. I believe the unit I receive was faulty one for wifi connectivity or may be a firmware update is needed. If this issue is resolved, then I can recommend tis printer.

This HP SMART TANK 5001 ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER has beautiful quality printing! The large ink tank reservoirs are great and I will be able to print so much before I need to buy ink refills. I really like being able to buy only the ink needed at a time. Filling the ink reservoirs at the start was easy to do. I wanted to start out with a positive point, as set up was a nightmare! I followed all of the instructions, downloaded the app, followed all instructions in the app and set up failed so many times. It took about an hour to get it to finally work and print anything. I specifically wanted a printer to be wireless and not need a computer as I rarely use a computer anymore. I was able to eventually get the HP SMART TANK 5001 ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER to connect to my network by plugging it into my iMac. It now works on my network wirelessly. It is not a compact printer and takes up a large footprint on the computer desk. Although set up to be wireless was a challenge and hope it was a fluke for me. I do find the overall print quality to be really great. Plain text is clear and sharp, photos match the color I see on screen and look incredible. I’m very happy with this HP Smart Tank printer. The print quality is sharp for both documents and color prints, and the wireless setup was quick and easy. The refillable ink tanks are a huge advantage because they last a long time and are much more economical than traditional cartridges. Printing from my phone and laptop has been seamless, and the scanner and copier work great as well. Overall, this is an excellent all-in-one printer for home or small office use. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, cost-effective printer.

I do loves me some HP products, as I'm sure you do, too. For the simple fact that the brand is just reliable. The PCs are top tier, for the most part, their monitors are pretty great, as well. And, of course, the reason that we are all here. Those lovely printers, that just makes life so much easier, with their print from anywhere features and Bluetooth printing from your smart phones and other mobile devices( tablets, etc.). There's a printer for just about every need you could possibly think of, from documents, photos. Heck! Even tee shirts. We just love them. So, why did you just come across that rating, up there? Well, let me just put it out there. This is a firm case of doing too much and not enough, at the same time. I really like the Smart Tank 5001, for the massive amount of ink it can hold and distribute, as I'm sure that that's the reason you're looking at it. Oh, it has you covered with ink. There's 4 big bottles of ink that need to be poured into the reservoirs, plus there are two cartridges that need to be installed. You're more than good there. Plus, I recommend getting one of the Instant Ink plans. They're gonna save you a lot , in the long-run. Set-up wasn't as seamless as I would've hoped as I couldn't set it up on my smart phone, even though it does give that as an option. That may be fixed in an update, also. Then there's the fact that the system recognizes it as a 5100 series printer, so don't let that throw you off, like it did me. Remember to follow the instructions and get all of the tape and paper/cardboard out of the way, before putting ink in the tanks. Now, I can say that once I got it set up, I was able to print from my phone. We're good there. But my biggest problem that I just can't let go of, is the paper tray. It's in the back of the printer and it only holds about 20 sheets. This is a Smart Tank printer, with lakes of ink, but this isn't designed for heavy workloads. What gives, HP? For the most part, it's just in the way, but not. It's not a big machine, but it's also bulky enough to be in the way. It's a good printer, as long as you know what you're getting. I just wish it had a larger paper tray. I'm not mad. I’m just disappointed, HP. Let's do better next time. Can we?

This is not HP's fault but I wanted a printer that ran on a 5G Network and the staff member at Best buy told me this would. I also did not find it extremely user-friendly to set up. I did follow the directions given but had problems and had to go to YouTube to find how to solve it. The other thing that I don't care for is the status screen is on the top. I have the printer on a shelf and cannot see that status screen so I have to pull the printer out and down a little if I need to see what it says. My last printer had the status screen on the front.

Hooked up the printer to our network with new problems. Have used it for printing and scanning with no issues.

Was more difficult to set up than it should have been, but after a few days I got it to print. Once set up it worked how I expected it to. I don't yet know if the ink system is better or worse than the cartridges I'm used to, but I'm hopeful. They four stars are based on the assumption they will help. If they run out quicker or cost me more money, this could drop to a 2 or 3 star review very easily.

We purchased this printer but were unsure because we had never had a tank printer before, but we decided to give it a try. My husband uses the printer a lot more than I do and he was thrilled how easy it was to install and how sharp the print is with the ink tanks rather than the cartridges. The ink is also much less expensive than buying cartridges. I would highly recommend this printer.

There was nothing wrong with this printer. It worked great, It didn't have auto feeder features and that won't work for our business. I think it would be great for small home printing needs

Bought this printer to replace one that was only a year old, but went through so many ink cartridges. The set up was easy, including the loading of the ink and wirelessly connecting to various devices (phone, laptop). Printed out many documents, and ink levels are still high.

Had trouble getting set up but called number for help. AI helper sure tried to help but was very frustrating for me so asked for a person. A very patient person walked me thru the steps. Putting the ink in involved a push and twist that AI did communicate . Also the packaging was a challenge to get ink heads free but access to my phone camera allowed the HP helper see my confusion and help me thru it. Once set up worked although first run an issue. HP very helpful including a phone call follow up the next day to check if things resolved . This a four star. But support a very big five star

Great print quality. Black and white printing is very fast. Color prints are nice and clear with good color depiction. Paper jams are a little tough as the machine didnt open like the the manuel showed. Other than that we really like the printer.

Just got our copier set up, but so far we're very pleased. It is easy to use. Installing the paper is super easy. We printed a photo of our son, and the resolution was fabulous. I have already recommended it to a friend.
