I’ve been using the HP Victus 15.6" (Ryzen 5-7535HS, 8GB DDR5, RX 6550M, 512GB SSD) for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly impressed. It handles everyday tasks, audio/video editing, and gaming (including Valorant) really well. The Ryzen 5 is fast, and the 8GB DDR5 RAM keeps things smooth—though I might upgrade the RAM later for even better multitasking. The Radeon RX 6550M isn't high-end, but it's solid for 1080p gaming. The display looks sharp, and I love the Mica Silver design—clean and professional. Storage is quick and responsive, and while 512GB is fine for now, I may add more down the line. The keyboard feels great, and it stays fairly cool even during long sessions. Overall, this laptop is a great value for both work and play.

The HP Victus 15.6” Gaming Laptop is an excellent choice for budget-conscious gamers and everyday users looking for solid performance without breaking the bank. Powered by the AMD Ryzen 5-7535HS processor, 8GB DDR5 RAM, and the AMD Radeon RX 6550M GPU, this laptop delivers smooth gameplay and responsive multitasking for most modern games and daily computing tasks. Pros: ✔ Great Performance for the Price – The Ryzen 5 processor and Radeon RX 6550M GPU handle most AAA titles at medium to high settings with decent frame rates. It also performs well for everyday tasks like browsing, streaming, and productivity work. ✔ Fast & Spacious SSD – The 512GB SSD ensures quick boot times and ample storage for essential games and programs. Load times are significantly better than traditional HDDs. ✔ Good Build Quality & Design – The mica silver finish looks sleek and premium, while the cooling system does a respectable job of managing heat during intense gaming sessions. ✔ Full HD Display – The 15.6-inch 1080p screen offers good color accuracy and sharpness for gaming and content consumption. Cons: ➖ Limited RAM Out of the Box – 8GB DDR5 RAM is enough for casual gaming, but many modern titles and multitasking will benefit from upgrading to 16GB. Luckily, there’s an extra RAM slot for expansion. ➖ Battery Life Could Be Better – Like many gaming laptops, the battery life isn’t its strong suit. Expect around 3-4 hours with casual use and much less during gaming sessions, so keeping the charger handy is a must. ➖ Display Refresh Rate – While the Full HD display is crisp, it lacks a high refresh rate (e.g., 120Hz or 144Hz) that some other gaming laptops in this range offer, which could be a downside for competitive gamers. Final Verdict: The HP Victus 15.6” is a fantastic entry-level gaming laptop that offers strong performance, a sleek design, and fast storage at a competitive price. While upgrading the RAM and keeping the charger nearby are recommended, it’s still a great value for casual and mid-range gaming. If you’re looking for an affordable gaming laptop that won’t disappoint, this is a solid choice!

Great alternative to a console. It handles 1080p gaming just as well as a PS5 or Xbox, but it's way more portable. I can throw it in a bag and take it anywhere, which you obviously can't do with a bulky console. Plus, having your entire Steam library on a portable machine is a huge win. The battery doesn't last very long if you aren't plugged in, and the fans do get a little loud when things get intense, but neither of those really bother me. For the performance and the game selection you get, it’s a great buy.

The HP Victus 15.6 is more than just a budget gaming laptop—it’s a capable machine for designing, creating, and multitasking. With solid performance for mid-range gaming and creative tasks like graphic design and video editing, it offers great versatility. The 15.6-inch display is decent, though not the most color-accurate for professional work. Cooling is effective, but like most gaming laptops, battery life is average. Overall, the HP Victus 15.6 is a strong choice for those needing both gaming power and creative functionality at an affordable price.

Awesome laptop for the price I got it at during Black Friday. Ordered another 8gb stick of ram, (Samsung which is the OEM to my surprise) and now it’s really screaming. Will run any Esport game at maxed out specs if that’s your thing, and most AAA games are playable at medium-high settings. Running Witcher 3 on high settings at 1080p gets me an average of 68fps. Outside of that, it’s just a fantastic laptop for general computing, and the full size keyboard is easy to pickup within just a day or two. Very happy with my purchase.

I purchased the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop (AMD Ryzen 5-7535HS, 8GB DDR5, Radeon RX 6550M, 512GB SSD, Mica Silver) on November 24, 2024, and it was delivered promptly the next day. This review is based purely on my personal experience using this laptop since then. My Experience: The primary reason I chose this laptop was for a balance of gaming capabilities and everyday productivity, and it has largely delivered on both fronts. * Gaming Performance: I've been genuinely impressed with how the AMD Ryzen 5-7535HS and Radeon RX 6550M handle gaming. I specifically enjoyed playing [mention a specific game and your experience - e.g., "a few sessions of 'Apex Legends' at medium settings with surprisingly smooth frame rates" or "indie titles like 'Hades' ran flawlessly"]. The visuals on the Full HD screen are clear and make the gaming experience enjoyable. * Everyday Use: Beyond gaming, this laptop is a capable machine for daily tasks. Boot-up times are incredibly fast thanks to the 512GB SSD, and applications like web browsers and office suites load almost instantly. Multitasking between several applications has been smooth. * Build and Design: The Mica Silver design is understated and looks good in various settings. The keyboard is comfortable for typing longer documents, and the overall build feels sturdy. I appreciate that it doesn't have an overly aggressive "gamer" aesthetic. * Value: For the price point, I feel this laptop offers excellent performance. It handles my needs well, and I'm satisfied with the balance of features I received. Considerations Based on My Usage: * The 8GB of RAM has been sufficient for my current usage, which includes web browsing, document editing, and light gaming. However, if I were to engage in more demanding tasks like video editing or running multiple high-resource applications simultaneously, I might consider upgrading the RAM in the future. This is just an observation based on my potential future needs. * The screen brightness is adequate for indoor use, which is where I primarily use the laptop. If I were frequently using it outdoors in bright sunlight, I might find it a little less vibrant. Overall: My experience with the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop has been positive. It provides a solid combination of gaming performance and everyday usability at a compelling price. It has met my expectations for a versatile laptop in this category.

I was able to pick this laptop up for $430 and as long as you can get it under $500 I think its a great value. The 6550M can handle most games decently well, the main compromise is the 4GB of VRAM but for casual gaming its fine. You wont be playing anything crazy on here with crazy settings but for casual gaming or even bigger games on lower to mid level seetings its great. My main areas of concern are the RAM, 8GB isn't nearly enough. I would HIGHLY recommend picking up at least another 8GB of RAM maybe even more depending on what you are using it for. 8GB of single channel RAM in 2024 is painful. My other main issue is the 512GB SSD, just like the RAM it isn't enough. Many laptops compromise on storage so this is to be expected but I would highly recommend expanding your storage. Overall for work and casual gaming this laptop can't be beat at a sub $500 price point. Just add some storage and a bit more RAM and this is a cheap yet solid machine.

I’ve been using this HP Victus for a while now and I’m very happy with it. Performance is excellent for gaming and multitasking. Games run smoothly, load times are fast, and the system stays responsive even with multiple apps open. The build quality feels solid, the keyboard is comfortable, and the screen looks great for both work and entertainment. Thermals are well managed and it doesn’t get excessively loud under load. Overall, this is a great value laptop with strong performance, especially for gaming and daily use. I would definitely recommend it.

I bought this laptop back in 2023 and it has been amazing. It’s the perfect balance between gaming and work. I now mostly use it for school but when I did use it for gaming it did not disappoint. The game rarely lagged and the display was clear and smooth. The battery life isn’t the best but it gets the job done. I would definitely recommend this computer for anyone that wants a cheap gaming laptop.

Out of the box it runs pretty well for a mid-low range gaming console. Yah had to drop the normal "bloat-wear". I personally go through laptops pretty fast as a developer and this one works like it should. I did upgrade the RAM to 32gb (2x ddr5 16gb) because windows 11 eats like 5-6gb on the regular... but im able to run 3 different shells and have decent video quality and no lag... could have used a faster fan but not everyone its maxing out the CPU like i do. Overall 4 stars... you get what you pay for and i got this at 45% off so i got a great deal!

This is my first gaming laptop like ever, and I will say even an open box it looks and works like brand new. I recommend it for people who are getting into gaming computers as their first. I do recommend upgrading it to 16GB RAM like I did; it’s much faster and much better. Games like BEAMNG Drive work great, no lag, no nothing. I recommend it 100/100. I will say the battery life when playing a game without power can deplete it fast so just expect the battery to be bad, not too bad where you can’t just browse, play it with the cord plugged in faster and better.

Got it for $450 as a BF deal. Amazing laptop for this price - runs GTA 5 and PUBG easily. Screen is meh, battery life is industry standard for budget gaming laptop - AKA short.

I will say that the computer is Great for beginners especially the 8GB Ram with half a terabytes. Some game stutters a bit but with 16gb of ram and 1TB of storage will be a fun experience and no need to worry about your game lagging or Crashing. Ive been using it for weeks, is fast, smooth and perfect for my study, and video game. I would be playing fortnite at around 120fps on creative and 70 on battle royale, the fan doesnt make much noise, device will get bit hot. but after finishing gaming, in 3 or 5 minutes the computer will be cool quickly. Batterry is great, but if its for gaming without a charger it'll drain immediately. If its for web search or watching videos, it'll be a decent battery life. It does last long, somewhere to 4 or 3 hours.

For gamers who don’t want to spend a fortune on a gaming laptop, the HP Victus 15 is an excellent choice. The AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS and Radeon RX 6550M combination provides strong performance for 1080p gaming, making it perfect for casual gamers or those on a budget. The design is sleek and practical, the display is solid for everyday use, and the keyboard and trackpad are comfortable for both gaming and typin0g.

I purchased the Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop as a Christmas gift for my 15-year-old son, upgrading from his older machine. He primarily uses it to play Minecraft and Helldivers II, and so far, the laptop has handled both exceptionally well. One of the biggest improvements he’s noticed is the lack of lag, which was a problem on his previous device. Even with only 8GB of RAM in a single slot, the performance has been smooth, and the laptop hasn’t struggled with his gaming workload. It does have an open DDR5 slot, providing an easy upgrade path if needed in the future. Overall, this has been a great purchase so far. It’s delivering solid performance right out of the box, and the upgrade potential adds even more value. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly gaming laptop that can handle moderately resource-intensive games well, especially at low resolution, this is a good option.

Got it on sale plus with open box excellent. With an AMD 6550M 4 GB VRAM slightly better than the 3050 4 GB variant, it can handle 1080p low graphics settings games in 2024. You will want to buy more RAM, however, since it nearly always uses 90%+ of its 8 GB RAM simply by running a game like Valorant which uses 2.12 GB. There are some color backlit keyboard options, decent IPS 144 hz display, and so you're able to get a start into modern video games at a modest price, while still being able to have a laptop that can blend in as an office computer. For those reasons, it is good.

I honestly love this laptop. I am so impressed with the type of games I can play. I’ve had it for a little over a year now and have had 0 issues. I bought it mainly for sims, but have also downloaded halo, saints row, fifa, and all different types of games. I’d say the fault of this computer is it does get really hot, I solved this by buying a fan for my laptop to sit on top of and that has resolved the issue. Love the Bluetooth compatibility for headphones. Also another downfall is this laptop only has one memory slot. You can still upgrade it but I wish it had a dual memory slot so I can upgrade both of them for more memory. Other than that I love this thing and am so glad I bought it.

I love my computer. I really only bought it to start playing sims but of course it turned into my everyday laptop. It has great video quality and it sounds clear when playing music. Now my battery life does drain fast but I think if I deleted all my my sim files it would be back to normal oval it’s a 10/10 computer.

bought it mainly for Fortnite and runs nicely even on high settings. wouldn't say its worth the regular price of $800 tho. i bought it on sale for $480 and thats what i think should be the regular price. theres definitely way better laptops for cheaper than $800. 8gb ram is manageable but gets annoying after a while so i recommend getting a 16gb ram laptop or just upgrading it once u get it

Probably one of the worst gaming laptops I have ever owned the battery lasts less than 2 hours for M is insufficient, and you'll have to spend out-of-pocket to go ahead and upgrade it the build quality of the laptop. It is subpar, compared to others like the. Msi, thin, there's large bezels on the screen. And the trackpad is clunky at most when it works fire beware
