The slate is of good quality, excellent grip from the bottom so that it does not run and an excellent and strong magnet for the screws to stay stuck.

s someone who frequently needs to repair laptops and iPhones while mobile, I've been looking for a product like this for a long time.

Decent product. Magnets work good but is a little pointless.

The iFixit Magnetic Project Mat isn’t just for tech geeks—it’s a multitasking marvel! This 8x10-inch mat lets you jot down to-dos, reminders, or doodles with the included Staedtler pen, then slap it onto your fridge or any metal surface for all to admire. Its magnetic magic keeps screws and bits in place if you’re tinkering, but also doubles as your quirky grocery list holder. Writing’s a breeze, erasing’s even easier—no smudges, just smooth wipes. Lightweight and grippy, it’s a fidgeter’s dream to handle. For $20, it’s a fun, functional sidekick for your chaotic life—though I’d love a neon version to spice up my fridge even more!

I suppose any magnetic surface would work, but grids make it easyt o remember where fasteners came from in the device you are working on. My only two complaints are that it is smaller than I anticipated (I never read the size description so my fault) and the pen has no way to be attached or tucked into the pad. That's going to disappear soon. Other than those two things, I love it.

I made something like this years ago, but it was a white board, and adhesive lines.. lol.. But I love this pad, I wish it was a little bigger, but its a good size. And I wish the marker had a magnet, and the board itself was a little stronger, so my gripe there!! oh and the price, it could be a little cheaper, 20 bucks is a little steep for what this is. Other then that, its very useful, even if you dont use it every day it really helps those projects once in a while to complete.

Great board. Comes in handy when taking items aparts. The magnet base is strong enough to hols screws in place but not too strong. I use the whiteboard part alot also. Great for writing down measurements or drawing diagrams I use it often

Makes it easier to keep all my screws separated and neat. I love the fact that the board is magnet so you don’t loose anything.

This magnet board with writing utensil is super nice! Thought it is smaller than I originally thought but that’s my fault for not reading to see how big it was, I think it should be more like $10-$15 price range but it is definitely really cool and super helpful! I have appreciated it a lot because it’s saved me for when I have forgot what went where I had this board where I wrote everything down and the magnet is super strong and holds screws well this product is definitely great I only did 4 star because I feel for $20 you should get a bigger magnet board.

The magnetic tray is a good size and pretty strong but unfortunately like others have said, the pen had dried out before I even opened it.

When I saw this, I had just been through the process of upgrading parts on a laptop and had been using my usual method of putting screws and other parts in individual sequenced bowls or cups. But this magnetic mat seems like it would work so much better. Kinda expensive for what it is and the pen that came with it had already dried up when I opened it.

[Employee of bestbuy] I do some work on small components and this has been a life savor. The magnetic board helps with not losing any smaller screws ;-; You an use if for larger things just have to keep it off to the side and its not thaaaat big.

It works great to keep track of screws and other small pieces, specially because of the magnetic surface that prevents them from moving easily.

The mat is just amazing, i now never have to worry about losing my screws again when im taking stuff apart. Also the fact that i can label what screws are which.

A must have for tiny screws. If you work on apple products or anything with small hardware, this keeps everything neat and organized. I draw little diagrams on how things are assembled and label screws when they all look similar in length

This is a great companion to an iFixIt tool kit. If you do any work on small electronics or laptops, this is a must have! Helps keep all those tiny, pesky screws organized and stops them from walking off on you.

Very helpful keeping everything organized when I work. Just wish it had a lip around the edge to help contain things a bit better

Must have for anyone that does work with computer hardware. I usually place screw in order inside the lid of my screwdriver set but they roll around and I'm prone to forgetting what goes where sometimes. Nice to have something that keeps screws from rolling around as well as letting me label what goes where. Gotta love iFixit

Works as expected. A great way to track your screws and other items while working on electronics. The included marker is incredibly high quality.

Just what you want when you're taking your laptop apart, with what seems to be hundreds of little screws which each have unique length and threading.... If you tend to forget things, you can even make notes (in multiple colors if you like, although only black is included) to help you get everything back together.
