Cable works as expected and is the advertised length. One thing to note. The base of this cable that plugs into nes has a clear plastic cover as shown in the attached picture. This makes the plug wider than the standard controller and makes it impossible to plug in a second controller. It does have two screws so you can likely take it off with effort. I'm not sure why it's included as it serves no obvious purpose. In my case I only intend to use one controller so it is fine.

This is a must have, makes your controller 8' long! Since the original controller that comes with the NES SYSTEM is only 2' feet long,

Best Buy (insignia) must have had a ton of spare Wii nunchuck connector parts laying around with which they decided to repurpose for these extension cables. Here's why. The clear plastic loop on the connector used originally to fasten the wrist strap to was left on the male end of the extension cord. This is a problem because not only do we not need a wrist strap on the end that plugs into the Classic NES, or anywhere on the extension cable for that matter. But the clear plastic loop actually totally blocks the 2nd player controller female port on the Classic NES console. Terrible design. Essentially, if you only want to play alone, buy this extension cord. And only buy one of these because you will not need a second as it will be rendered useless by the first. Since discovering this, I have realized that many manufacturers on extension cables for this system have made the same grave error. I found one of the Rain Forest retailer's site. Take a look for yourself.

The included NES Classic controller cable is an impossible 1.5 ft. long. I really don't understand how this was supposed to work because the console doesn't come with extra long power and video cables, or anything. So you NEED this 6 ft. extension. 7.5 total feet should be great for most people, but you can also daisy chain multiple cables if you need more length. With one at least, I notice zero input lag. This item works perfectly and I would assume more than one daisy chained together works just as well. ABSOLUTE MUST BUY FOR THE NES CLASSIC.

If you received (or purchased) a NES Classic, you might notice how they are trying to force the nostalgia of sitting right below the TV by making the NES Classic controller cables only 2.5 feet long. That or just a design oversight (or cost cutting attempt). Either way these help provide the additional length you need to sit far enough from your big screen TV to see all that classic NES action without the neck strain. Also works with Wii Pro Controllers.

This item is almost required for your classic NES as the wired controller cord it comes with standard is only about 3 feet long. With this extender it adds on roughly an extra 6 feet so we can easily sit on the couch comfortably to play. I have noticed no input lag using this item and I hope it continues to function in the coming years.

This is a pretty straightforward item. It either works or it doesn't. It's either long enough for your situation, or it's not. In my case, it works fine, easy to plug in, and is long enough. I can't attest to whether it would work well with two controllers, as I'm only using it with one.

the nintendo classic came with a very short 2 ft cord and impossible to play unless your sitting nose to nose with the tv screen. so i heard some people online mention this and i am so glad i got it. works perfectly and i have tons more room to sit farther back and enjoy my games!

At first I was skeptical on buying this because solely on the brand, Insignia. But come to my surprise, this extension cord has worked like a charm for me. I haven't noticed and lag input issues and it's a really nice lengthy cord too. Thank you!

I purchased two of these Insignia extension cables for the Nintendo NES Classic controllers. They work like a charm! Just connect and play. No problems or issues at all. Now i can sit back far from the television and enjoy my new gaming system.

This is just an extension cable for the controller on the Nintendo classic. You will really need to get this if you plan on playing from the couch or anywhere else further than 2 feet away from the console. Cable works great and as expected.

I got 2 of these and use it for my Nintendo classic controller so that I can use the controller anywhere in the room, the original control wire is very short. It made it so much better and it wasn't as expensive as buying a new controller.

That cable on your NES Classic Edition controller way too short? This cable solves the problem by adding another 6 feet of wire to it. Seems decently made, it plugs in with no issues, it doesn't cost much. The only thing you have to remember about is that if you use two of those for two controllers you need to use a screwdriver to remove little translucent tab on the side of the plug so you can have two plugs side-by-side. I assume that plastic tab is used to a safety strap on the Wii-mote. Totally unnecessary for NES Classic controller.

The cable has been fairly durable and makes the controller included with the NESC usable. It coils up easily and doesn't get tangled like some extension cables I have used. Removing the plastic clip at the end held on by two screws allows for the use of two controllers. This cable seems it was originally designed for Wii U controllers, and the clip serves no purpose on the NESC.

This works just like its supposed to do. If stretches a long way. My tv and bed have a few feet of space. I was able to comfortably sit on my bed, use the extension cord with out being combersome. Well worth the extra purchase.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a NES Classic. I had heard that the controller cables were short, but I didn't fully realize how short until I unboxed the console. After the first night of nostalgia filled retro gaming my eyes and back were killing me. I knew I needed a solution to actually enjoy my NES Classic going forward. The Insignia 6' extension cable is the perfect solution. The extra length makes playing games much more fun and less physically torturous - ha. The price is pretty cheap but the cable is a good quality. all of the connections are secure and I didn't see any negative impact on the response time of the controller. this is a great solution if you're tired of sitting uncomfortably and blindingly close to your tv while playing the NES Classic.

Works well to extend your NES Classic's controller length, but it does contain the clear, plastic wrist strap holder-thing found on most Wii controllers that ends up blocking the second controller port on the console when plugged in. It is removable which is a saving grace - just unscrew the two tiny screws holding it on using a tiny screwdriver and you're good to go.
