Smells like burnt plastic/chemicals

I understand break in periods, but I've used this for weeks now and after several uses, it still reeks of burnt plastic or chemicals. The toxic exhaust makes us nauseous so we have to ventilate the house during and after air frying. The compartment is also very difficult to open and close. Guess I'm going back to the real thing.
