Its a controller for a NES classic. It looks reasonably like the one that comes with the unit, but with black buttons. The cord is longer than the stupidly short one Nintendo decided was a good idea. I'm convinced that this is just a hair less responsive than the official controller, even with the extension. Not a huge difference, just a tiny bit.

With extra nes classic controllers tough to come by I thought I'd try this out and was surprised to find it quite serviceable especially as a second controller. The feel and weight are close to the original and button spacing is right on. They are raised just a touch more but not enough to really effect you. I would also note that the plastic feels a little different as well. One nice thing is that it comes with a 10 ft cable. It's not as good as the original but it's close enough and if it's not your main controller it can fill in nicely. Recommend.

I got this as a secondary controller for those times of old school PvP fun. I admit, I didn't really use it, staying with the Nintendo offered one. I had bought an extension cord for it and all was okay. For a review I decided to try this Player 2 controller. Simply, there's no difference between the two Granted, the greatest reason to buy this is the extra length of the cable. It alone is the reason to get it. I had heard there was lag when using this third party controllers. I didn't notice any on the games that I played using it. Even the way it's modeled to look like Nintendo's is a great feature (though one can say it's too close of a clone and be turned off). While the extended cable is the reason to get it the deal is sweetened by THIS MODEL BEING IN STOCK AND CHEAPER!!! Truly, don't even try and find a Nintendo branded second controller, Insignia nailed it with this peripheral.

These are pretty nicely made and are really close replicas of the Nintendo controller with two notable differences. Fist the good: The cable is nice and long. None of that short cable nonsense that Nintendo pulled. Second is a minor complaint that the D-Pad's pivot point is flat and not tall enough. This makes it so you can literally press it straight down and activate all 4 directions (U,D,L,R) simultaneously. This makes it less than accurate in the heat of action. This can be fixed by modifying that center pivot as I have done this on both of mine. Essentially you need cut off and replace the flat nub with a ball (or 1/2 a ball technically). I use air-soft pellets with a flat ground on one side to accomplish this. Compare to a genuine Nintendo D-Pad to get the height correct then glue it in place epoxy. After that it's pretty spot on.

I really wanted to like this controller. At first it looked just like the original and got great reviews here.Comparing it to the original and playing it is another story. The d pad is way too high and the buttons have how to explain it take longer to press compared to the quick presses on the original. These 2 problems make you miss a lot of jumps when doing speed runs in Mario. Not only that the A button doesn't always fully work and a character might only jump half way. The controller is slightly lighter but feels great in your hand and has really good cord length. It works perfect on Wii U VC games but when going into the regular Wii VC games it only works on some games. For the price go for it but it doesn't match the Nintendo controller if you were thinking that.

I picked up this controller to go along with my NES Classic Edition since the Nintendo-branded controller is still impossible to find. As other reviews have noted, this controller doesn't feel exactly the same as the original. The D-pad sits just a little taller and the corners of the pad feel a little sharper. I had some trouble doing some precision ducking in Mario 3, but otherwise it was okay. The A/B buttons are good, though the noise they make when pressed is louder and clickier than the Nintendo controller. It's close enough for me to be willing to keep this as a stand-in, and future backup controller (if I ever find the OEM one). It works well enough and seemed like a safe bet compared to the random controllers for sale on Amazon and eBay. The long cord and cool monochrome color scheme were also a plus for me. So if you really need a second controller for your NES Classic, this one is pretty decent, but if you really want that OEM feel maybe wait it out or take your chances elsewhere.

The console itself only comes with one controller so I bought a second to play games with my son. It's super simple to hook up and use and the ten foot cord it comes with is beyond phenomenal for our living room. Much better than the two foot cable the one packaged-in with the console comes with. I'm considering buying a second one of these to replace the included one.

This review is for this product itself. It works great and is a lot better than the included controller with the NES Classic because it is longer. Would I buy another one? No I wouldn't because I found a wireless one that works just as well and I don't have to worry about my wife tripping over it while holding our newborn! If the wire doesn't bother you then this is a great controller to have.

Controller works great, long cord is better than controller that comes with system, so buy 2. Gave 4 stars because still trying to determine if it works as good as name brand or it just me still trying to figure out the touch of the controller

This is a compatible controller for the NES Classic Edition. It comes with a 10 foot cord, not a 2 foot cord like the original controller has, and it serves the same functionality and purpose as that controller. This is useful because the improved cord length allows you to play further away from your display device.

I was hesitant to buy this controller because of some negative reviews I had read. After no luck finding the Nintendo brand one I finally just gave in and purchase this one and to date I am very happy with how it works. And even Better is the longer cord this had compared to the short cord on the Nintendo one. Definitely worth it

Works great. Feels like original. Longer cord too.

Given it is is hard to find an actual controller, this aftermarket one will do the job. I kinda felt like the buttons were not the smoothest and would sometimes lag but otherwise good deal for the price.

I had a hard time finding the nintendo branded controllers for the NES Mini. When I visited my Best Buy store and saw they only had one of these on the rack, I immediately purchased it. The controller is great and has not given us any issues. It comes with a 10ft cable so no need to purchase an extension.

Pre-ordered the classic NES the moment it went live, but never managed to get my hands on an OEM controller. Have had good luck with these as a second controller and nothing to complain about.

Just like the NES classic was vaporized from any and all retailer selling it at MSRP, so did the additional controllers made by Nintendo. And while I was extremely lucky to 'source' 2 NES Classics (one for me, other for my best friend and his kid, my godson) at retail price, I wasn't so lucky on getting a second Nintendo controller for them so I went for this one, inexpensive and get the job done. My only complaint is that the build quality is not on par with Nintendo's and the buttons felt clickier compared to the original one. Other than that, it works, and at the end of the day it's all I care about as I traveled 6000 miles to have this gift delivered to them!

Does everything that the OEM equipment does and does it flawlessly. The cable is significantly longer than the OEM so it allows you to sit back and play all the classics.

This is a great controller. The cord is very long which is perfect and encourages kids to sit further from the TV. I prefer it to the controller that came with the gaming consul. That one was very short and not really realistic.

I definitely recommend this controller to any and everyone who purchases the Nes Classic because it compliments the one and only controller that comes with the game. If you plan on having a competition with another player this is a must have hands down.

Since the original NES classic is almost no where to be found but on Ebay or Amazon for an expensive amount, I decided to try this one out. I have seen on numerous websites and videos on youtube saying that the D-Pad has some issues or that the A and B buttons get stuck. I have not experienced any issues of that kind with mine and I have 2 of these controllers. It works just as good and the original controller that came with the Classic. It does feel a lighter to me in terms of weight but I see that as more of a pro than a con. It also comes with a 10ft long cord which is nice since the original controller was really short. It responds well to input commands and hopefully they last long in the long run. Overall, if you are looking for a decent controller at a decent price than this is one. Thank you!
