Customer Ratings & Reviews

[Employee of bestbuy] I have been using this laptop as my daily driver for over 3 months and it has been excellent. I use it for word documents, browsing the internet, editing videos and more. It does all of these processes very quick and the battery lasts around 16 hours of continual use. Great keyboard and trackpad. It is super lightweight. The snapdragon chip is not as limiting as you might think.

After my main laptop, an Alienware M15 R3 (Core i7) broke, I began using my small, inexpensive HP "travel laptop" for everyday purposes. It was old and slow, so I purchased this Microsoft Surface Elite to replace both the Alienware and the HP, thinking I would eventually use the Surface Pro as a travel laptop and get a bigger, more powerful laptop to replace the Alienware. After six months of daily use, I can honestly say the Surface Elite has surpassed all my expectations. I use it daily and travel with it. It is powerful, quiet and fast, and I really love it. Nice job, Microsoft.

Awesome device. It's a solid grab. Excellent keystrokes and very fast. The memory and storage space is great for my business. I love it!

Amazing laptop so far. Been a mac user for years (since 2008). Happy to make the move. Snappy, and easy to use. I heard Edge was a good web browser online, which I highly doubted, but pleasantly surprised. We'll see if it holds up and bolsters it's capabilities once the AI & x86 conversion sofrware updates come. I am a scientists and use the machine mainly for coding, data wrangling, and web browsing. Really nice for these so far.

Works well. Light weight. Holds a charge for 4 or 5 hours

Sunrises I am not. I expected the best and received exactly what I had hoped for. I was replacing a much older similar model and had high expectations and received and surpassed my hopes. Great sleep, very light with a fantastic battery.

Great laptop, I love it, is great for people that travel a lot and great performance

It's only been three weeks with this laptop, and quite frankly, I am really impressed with the quality of this product. The build quality is very premium; it feels a lot less cheap than other laptops at higher price points. The specs are masterclass and should be future-proof, which is what I was looking for. I was initially concerned about software compatibility with the ARM x64 processor, but I've had zero problems thus far with Office, Adobe, R, JASP, and other programs.

Fast and long battery life. Haven't found a business application that doesn't run well on this Surface. Screen as always is excellent.

One of the best computers I have ever owned. It’s fast and very compact. Added the docking station for more connectivity.

Excellent. Powerful. Light-weight. Very good purchase. Would absolutely recommend. Will need to use MicroSoft-Surface based accessories

Bought as a replacement for my Microsoft Surface Book that was running Windows 10. My last laptop lasted almost 10 years. This laptop fits the bill nicely as it is very fast, especially with the start-up. The keypad is great - keys are very comfortable and they are backlit.

Excellent laptop super fast, battery is amazing. Screen has nice colors

Its a very decent laptop i get very good compliments on it. I have not use a computer in a long time so getting updated on new technology is very easy with this laptop.

Very good machine. Very fast, good battery life and lightweight.

I bought this laptop expecting that 32GB of RAM, combined with a Snapdragon processor, would at least handle basic video editing. I understood going in that it uses integrated graphics, but even older Intel integrated graphics systems I’ve owned could manage simple editing tasks. This one cannot. Performance is extremely disappointing. Even light video editing is a struggle, which makes this device feel far less capable than its specs suggest. For the price, that’s hard to justify. What really says a lot is that Best Buy would not even accept it as a trade-in. That alone tells me how little value they see in this machine, and unfortunately I agree. If your needs are very basic - things like browsing the web, working in Word, or watching videos - it may be fine. But anything beyond that, and it quickly shows its limitations. At this price point, I expected a lot more. Unfortunately, this ended up being one of the worst-performing laptops I’ve owned. I would not recommend it, especially if you need any level of performance beyond simple everyday tasks.

Works ok but has a lousy connection with my mouse. I continually have to reset the laptop to get the mouse to work. The mouse works on other laptops that I own.

+= Fast laptop with long battery life. Bright and clear display. Most apps and programs worked very well. - = Waiting for crinter and scanner folks to develop drivers for compatibility

Microsoft's laptop 7th edition is a great device; you won't be disappointed with it. Best Buy does the best job of price matching Micro center. The device's premium feel is comparable to a MacBook Air.

Overall not happy with performance. I thought having a laptop and not a Surface tablet would be more convenient but it’s not. I have had issues with this laptop since the beginning. Glitchy performance, and for what I do use it for it always seems to have some issue. Microsoft one not online, Microsoft word dysfunctional. I just wish I had my Surface Pro back.
