My old refrigerator was 23 years old and still running fine, but I knew it was just a matter of time before it quit! I had my eye on this particular refrigerator for a while. Read the reviews and looked at it in the store. It fit my requirements: no ice maker in the door, no ice maker in the freezer, large capacity, great shelving layout and attractive! Price was normally about a $1000 but would drop to $900 every now and then. But when it dropped to $810 ... it was time to buy it!!! Delivery was slightly behind schedule ... no big deal. Installers did not level the refrigerator and walked away with my 25' tape. Oh well! Refrigerator runs very quiet, plenty of space, and lots of available shelf scenarios! Love everything about it!!! Looks great in my kitchen!

Great product and reasonable price for an average home. Enough storage space for freezer and refrigerator in side by side for a normal kitchen. Excellent design and quality.

After hours of online research, comparison with other brands and stores Best Buy ultimately hit the target: the brand of my choice, the price I can afford, and the date of delivery I preferred. Without any doubt Best Buy is my neighborhood store I will always go back to for my household needs .

In researching new appliances, I discovered that most do not last more than 10 years, and the more "bells & whistles" they have, the greater potential for something to go wrong. So with this in mind, I did not want to spend a lot of money. In looking for a new refrigerator, I knew I wanted a side-by-side model, WITHOUT an ice maker / water dispenser, and stainless steel. So I looked for that model first, and then read the Consumer's Report review on this product. All seemed appropriate for my needs, so I bought it sight unseen. The refrigerator and freezer units work great. The temperature is consistently maintained, and because it does not have the ice/water dispenser, I have more room in my freezer! Things I do not care for - but can live with - are: 1) It only comes with three shelves in the refrigerator vs. four standard. It has four slots, but only comes with three shelves (So I pirated a shelf from my old fridge and all is well). 2) The freezer racks have larger gaps between the slats on the rack/shelf - so some items don't "seat" themselves steadlily on the racks. 3) There is only one drawer in the freezer; 4) This model does not have locking wheels - so there is a potential to move the refrigerator while opening either door. However, once my fridge was filled, this issue was minimized. 5) There is not a warning signal if you inadvertently leave a door open / ajar. Again, some minor adjustments on how I use this appliance, but for the price, I am very satisified with my purchase.

We were looking for a fridge without an ice maker that was SS and came across this fridge for a decent price. We have had it for three weeks and it works great, we are very happy with it and would recommend for anyone shopping for a basic SS fridge.

I purchased the refrigerator for an office that I work at. It was hard finding a side by side that did not have an ice maker. This is exactly what I needed. I was pleasantly surprised that magnets stick to the refrigerated, and that it is so LARGE in side, it's HUGE!! Only bad side was the installers damaged the first one bringing it up, and didn't tell me that I could keep it till the replacement arrived. Believe Best Buy needs to work on the customer service side for deliveries, this was a huge headache.

We're into our sixties now, so better access is needed (upper or lower freezers had to be packed, hiding items that were forgotten), as well workable storage. Ours is w/o the ice maker because we valued the extra freezer storage. We added an extra shelf in the fridge area. Everything in the fridge and freezer sections can be seen and used before expiration.

This Whirlpool, while basic, serves my needs well. Compared with refrigerators of yore, it is built of light materials, as is expected of a relatively inexpensive item these days--not a problem. A more sophisticated thermostat might have been nice; but again, I was looking for economy; and the thermostat is adequate--it maintains an even temperature (important), but is not marked in degrees. The factory setting wasn't quite right in terms of the recommended temperatures for freezer and refrigerator, and required a little trial-and-error before getting the temperature exactly where I wanted. In the end, the freezer needed to be set colder and the refrigerator section set very slightly warmer. The refrigerator is attractive and does have one elegant touch: the lights ramp up - dark to light in about a second, which is slightly unnerving for one expecting the light to just pop on instantly. Best Buy's installation team was great--they really knew what they were doing, worked quickly, and pleasantly negotiated tight spaces. About my overall rating: 4 stars is very good; I only give 5 stars for something truly extraordinary.

Finally found a side-by-side fridge that didn't have an ice or water dispenser. Had to order on-line as they don't carry it my local Best Buy Store. Love the sleek look (black w/ stainless handles) and all the extra room it has. Looks Great & Works Great. Very quiet.

I was looking for a refrigerator that did not have an ice maker and this one is perfect. It keeps everything at just the right temperature and it has lots of room. I would definitely recommend this product.

This was just what we were looking for...a refrigerator/ freezer with NO ice maker. MUCH more room in the freezer. The only strange thing is the light for the freezer. It is located on the left side in the middle of the middle shelf. This makes loading the freezer more difficult. Have to be careful not to block the only light in the freezer area.

We've had this fridge for about a month and a half now, and so far, so good. It is very roomy, and we love the side-by-side combo. You can hear it defrosting for a few minutes daily, but no big whoop (sounds like gentle water running). Other than that, it is very quiet, and a great addition to our kitchen. We have received many compliments.

This is a great fridge and although it doesn't have an ice dispenser or water feature, it works perfectly fine and has a ton of space. The price point is perfect as well

This refrigerator is great. The space it provides is perfect for my family of 6, (three of which are teenagers). It fits perfectly where my other, smaller refrigerator was. I noticed that my ice cream did not freezer burn either.

Great, the ice cube maker and the area to obtain a drink of water were a pain!! I do not mind making my own ice cubes and I certainly like not having to clean up a mess whenever I used both amenities. The freezer and refrigerator work great. Now, I just have to fill it. Judy

Without the ice make and water-in-door, there is so much space. Love it!

I was looking for a modern, stainless steel, spacious refrigerator that did not have ice and water built in as these two items make up about 80% of maintenance calls. This one met the criteria and was not extremely expensive. I've only had it for a few weeks but so far it has performed flawlessly. My "pros": it looks good, is quite, offers plenty of space, and was pretty cost effective. I only have two minor "cons". The first is the drawers on the frig side are made completely of plastic which in and of itself makes no difference to me however they operate relatively poorly. Opening and closing them isn't smooth and feels cheap. The other "con" is that the door shelves are great however there are only so many mounting points for them. For some reason, there are a few places where one would like to hang a shelf to maximize the "gallon in the door" capability however you can't. There is no visible or obvious reason why the didn't put the mounting nubs all the way up and down the door but they didn't. With that being said, I am still able to store 4 full gallons (could be 6 if not for the issues I just mentioned) on the door and still have space for other items as well.
