I wanted to match the joy-con color since all wrist straps supplied with joy-cons come grey. At first I bought off brand, but don’t! They never fit right and generally color varies way different than Nintendo brand. Although the red strap doesn’t quite match color perfect, the yellow fits the yellow neon joy-cons just right. The cost seems high for only one strap and since you already get the greys supplied whenever buying Nintendo brand joy-cons, it’s mainly for cosmetic purpose only.

They are a little over-priced in my opinion and that says a lot since i can almost justify the price on every accessory. I think its ridiculous there isn't a two-pack of some sort that at least saves you something on one of the straps. However, THEY LOOK AWESOME WITH THE GREY JOYCONS!!!!!!!!! If you had told me i paid extra for the color I'd be cool with that haha.

It comes down to preference, but I very much prefer using a single Joy-Con sideways (e.g. Mario Kart 4 player) with the strap than without. Buttons feel mushy compared to without the strap, but they're much larger and it makes the Joy-Con nicer to hold. It'll also be useful for motion controller games such as Arms. There a couple significant things to point out: -1) The Colors are not the same as the Joy-Cons themselves. They are intentionally designed with a slightly different hue for complimenting the Joy-Con color. But quite frankly, I think the Gray, Blue, and Red Joy-Con are all ugly. I'm personally trading in my Gray straps for Black straps, which look much nicer and work with any color Joy-Con. I haven't seen the yellow, so no judgement for or against there. -2) YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PUSH THE RELEASE BUTTON ON THE JOY-CON. Many people complain about how difficult the Joy-Cons are to remove, both when put on correctly or incorrectly. However, these people are trying to press the Joy-Con release button on the back of the Joy-Con - that is only for the Nintendo Switch itself (I haven't check the Joy-Con grip). The Joy-Cons are designed to be release without bushing this button. The only locking mechanism is the grey tab at the bottom. As long as the grey mechanism is unlocked at the bottom, just put some force into it (no, it won't break on the slider) and it comes off nice and smoothly - put on correctly or upside down. Do I recommend the Joy-Con straps: Yes, absolutely. Do I recommend the colors: No, not at all. Go for black, maybe yellow, if you care at all about aesthetics.

I ordered the wrist strap to match with my Neon Joy-Con set. I did not realize pre-launch that the Joy-Con each came with their own black wrist strap, so this purchase was a little redundant. When I pulled out the strap and attached it to a Neon Red Joy-Con, I was disappointed to see that the colors did not perfectly match. The wrist strap has a different hue (not as bad as the blue strap). So I've been using this wrist strap with the Neon Blue Joy-Con or the Gray Joy-Con instead. That way, when two of my kids want "the pink controller" they can each have some red. I am glad that I purchased this item, but I don't think I would recommend it to someone who wants to match it with their Neon Red Joy-Con.

I love having the matching straps. Same as any other strap works just fine and a cool color as well.

This was an impulse buy and trying to collect all the joy-con colors and while nice, it is not a necessity.

So this strap is much like the Wii Controller to keep the Joy Con from flying out of your hands. It serves it purpose and does the job.

The wrist strap will help you push the top/side buttons (depending on how you are holding the Joy-Con) much easier. Just be careful to slide on the strap so that the +/- symbol matches up to your Joy-Con. If you accidentally miss-match them it is pretty difficult to remove the wrist strap and you will feel like the controller may break.

I bought some Joycons that didn't come with these so I needed extras. They're really only useful if you're using them separately for games like Mario Kart with extra players. They actually don't slide on or off super well, and I hope that's fixed in the future.

My husband lost the strap for both controllers and I was upset because didn’t think they sold the straps separately, I googled and found them here. Bought two straps to replace them. A month later we found the lost ones under the couch. Lol. Now we have extra just in case.
