I purchased these speakers over other models because they were created to make not only high resolution sources sound good, but low resolution, like watching or listening to music on Youtube, which is mainly what I use them for. Also, I found them visually more appealing then other models. Sound-wise, they have a strong bass, and both smooth the overall song, making music sound like a whole, instead of tinny, separate sounds, yet also clarifying individual sounds, making them easier for me to hear. Volume-wise, these can go very loud. It would be possible to use them for a television set up, or to play music in a large room, as well as desktop speakers. These are hardwired with a power source, and the speakers are hardwired to each other. The length of the wire between the two speakers is about 5 feet. I use bluetooth to connect to my laptop, but the speakers can also be wired directly using USB (included is a USBC to B cord) or with RCA cords. There are significantly more connections in the higher end Onkyo GX-30 model. I find the bluetooth mostly reliable, but at times I've had to unplug the speakers, then unpair and repair the speakers to get them to work again. Comparing the GX-10 to the GX-30, the 10 has a 3 inch woofer, and the 30 has a 4 inch woofer. I find the bass plenty powerful with the 10. The volume control is a bit of a struggle. The volume knob is on the back of the right speaker, and has no hard stop, so adjusting it can be difficult. Mainly though, I am controlling the volume through my laptop. As an energy saving function, the speakers will turn off if no sound has been played through them in 15 minutes. Go to the GX-10DB page at Onkyo's website for these speakers and under firmware updates, there are instructions to download an update to override this. It will require a USBC drive, or a C adapter to plug in to the back of the right speaker. Sound-wise I am very happy with these speakers. Price-wise they are on the expensive side at $249. (Check out JBL's 104-BT as a comparison for $199) I purchased the gray model on sale for $212.99. I've seen them go even lower in price, (as of this writing, they are on sale for 159.99 at Best Buy. They are definitely worth it at that price. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, and would recommend these speakers. Included are photos of the back of the right speaker and the remote control (2 AAA batteries were included).

They may be small - which is what we wanted- but the sound is awesome

They sound great but for some features such as the speakers not turning off automatically and the light dimming require a firmware update which requires a usb flash drive and a usb to usbc converter.
