This is a good way to help get anyone into the TCG. Has 3 different decks to help your play style, and you’ll be able to customize when you have your own cards to help build the deck you want to build.

This was gifted to me. Im more into collecting the packs with random cards inside for the fun. I can say that this is a very good box set for any person attempting to learn and play the Pokemon came. All cards are preset and the same for every set.

Best Buy had the Battle Academy game which I gifted to my grandkids. It taught the kids and the adults as well, how play the Real Pokemon Battle Games! We Love it!

Good for beginners trying to learn how to play the game

Contains three decks, none of which have type advantages over the others, 2 of which are set up to allow for immediate play straight out of the box. The rule books guide you through the first couple of turns before setting you free. The third deck is there to allow you to switch things up. No abilities on any of the pokemon and no pokemon tools. Also no burned or poisoned status tokens or cards that cause statuses. Definitely meant for people just starting out in TCG. If you're looking for great or powerful cards for your existing collection or decks, I would recommend looking elsewhere

My girlfriend and I bought this to learn how to play Pokemon, and we loved it! The decks are fun to play, and the guide books are informative and easy to follow. Definitely recommend for new players!

This makes it incredibly easy to learn the Pokémon trading card game! By providing premade decks and an easy to use playing mat, it makes the game simple to learn. The game is really fun and it opens the door for creating your own decks and more complex strategies.

I'm a Mother of a son who is new to the Pokemon interest. I bought this as a Christmas Gift for him. I was more than surprised what all it comes with. Excited it came with 4 packs of Cards, which means I didn't have to shop extra to play the Game itself. So that is almost a triple Bonus. Very fun pokemon training game! Very helpful in training novice players or pokemon trainers to know how to play pokemon TCG. It teaches you how to place your pokemon in the fighting or 3 base slots and to evolve, energize, and attack with your pokemon. My son is 8 years old and had the time of his life playing this game with me.

Bought this to teach my nephew how to play plmn tcg. Comes with three decks of increasing conplexity and all the doo dads needed like life counters and whatnot. According to my nephew pikachu is the strongest pokemon so he wins. Didnt read that in the rules but he has to be right with how confidently he states it. Pikachu stronger than Eternitus? Check.

I bought this for my 6yo who uad had a recent interest in Pokemon. I, myself had no knowledge on the TCG but we both found the decks to be easy to use and the directions easy to follow. They number the cards 1-60 but the directions only guide you through the first couple turns. They provide 3 decks; the directions only guide you through two of them. Theres also some stuff on the cards that the directions dont explain for example weakness. I assume that comes into play more as the user gets more advanced. The board is helpful, too.

Bought this for myself and my friend, who had never battled with pokémon cards, only in the videogames. a lot of fun. lovely to have decks built for you, easy to understand, great layout of the board, guide, tutorial, and whatnot. Great for starters who want to learn!

Came on time and in good condition. The game is fun and a fantastic way for new players to learn how to battle with decks. It gives you several prebuilt options and a layout, so you can use your own if you want. I highly recommend.

Kids love this academy set, we not only needed promos for our SV promo master set but it has helped my 5 year old learn how to start playing the game before he is able to go and play at league nights at the LGS.

This is a great way to learn the game for kids just getting started with the hobby, My 7 year old was able to follow along in the guide as we played though our first game with just a little bit of assistance. It’s also one of the few Pokemon products that are regularly in stock at our local Best Buy.
