Just EPIC. So pumped to own this. (Photo: my face knowing I didn’t have to pay a bunch of money because Best Buy restocked the item)

This 4k of Kurosawa's final masterpiece is simply stunning. And another gorgeous Lionsgate steelbook.

A solid steelbook for an underappreciated kurosawa film made late into his career as a filmmaker.

This is one of my favorite Kurosawa films, and I surprised to see this at my local Bestbuy. I had no clue that Bestbuy released a steel book ?! Please make a steel book of “Harakiri” by Konayashi.

Surprised to see Best Buy even had these in stock cuz the website said it was OOP. Great steelbook even better transfer of a Kurosawa/Shakespeare classic.

Haven’t watched this yet, but this came with two 4K discs, as opposed to the advertised 4K and Blu-Ray discs. A little disappointing but not a terrible mishap.

Loving movies but having little space means I need to be picky about not only the movie but also the cover and release. Ran is beautiful epic that every Kurosawa fan needs in their collection, literally every scene is so masterful in color and composition. The steelbook release has a well designed cover and sleeve, it looks great on the shelf.

Beautiful steelbook for a classic film. If you enjoy watching classic foreign films, Ran should be top of your list. Akira Kurasawa's film adaptation of William Shakespeare's King Lear, nominated for Best Director for Ran. Beautiful steelbook package presented in 4K UHD. View this film on a OLED screen. Highly recommended!

Not my favorite Kurosawa film but most likely his masterpiece. Retelling of King Lear set in medieval Japan. Picture a bit grainy but honestly this is the best this film has ever looked. Light years from my old Dvd that looked liked a VHS transfer. Colors are INCREDIBLE, as is the sound. So glad Best Buy got this one on 4k.

I already owned the 4k for this but have been tempted by the stleelbook for a while and finally got it. This looks AMAZING. Quite a centerpiece for my shelf. I noticed this does not have the extra bonus disc that the 4k disc has that I got from overseas even though they are both made by Studio Canal. Glad I got both.

Mesmerizing and haunting depiction of the King Lear. i remember seeing it in the theater with my uncle Michael i believe in the now renovated into a library, Reynolda Cinema. never forgot the visuals and was my introduction to Kurosawa. to have it 4k and steelbook is EVERYTHING.

Kurosawa showcases the collapse of the Ichimonji family with breathtaking craftsmanship. This film shows how astonishingly easy it is to break down an empire from within after decades upon decades of control. It boggles the mind and makes one question just what the purpose of it all is.

Ran, a late masterpiece in Kurosawa’s substantial output, has been given a fabulous new 4K restoration and remaster, Abha’s surely never looked better than this! The set is great, although I wish it was a regular release rather than a steelbook. Get this set if you love film!

I missed the first pressing of this one, so naturally I grabbed this one on re-release. It's so great to get to shop Best Buy for new and legacy 4k titles. Ran is a classic and definitely deserves the beautiful treatment it has gotten from Lionsgate.

[Employee of bestbuy] Try to shoot and get the 4K version. Sadly, I opened the wrapping and put it away and the next day my store had the 4K version for the same price. This is still a wonderful movie and the packagin was good.
