What a night and day difference in terms of speed and obviously space. I installed this into my Alienware Desktop from a 512 SSD for boot up and 1 TB HDD drive to the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD and I absolutely love it and truly notice a difference in speed on my PC. Extremely easy to install and surprisingly so easy to clone my original operating system (512 SSD) drive to the 4 TB using the Samsung Magician app. I absolutely love the difference and actually was so impressed I bought a second one since I had an empty slot that I now use for games and work and the other for boot up and software. I purchased my heat sinks elsewhere as I read they can get hot, but I’ve had zero issues with temp and have had them installed for a good amount of time for a strong sample size. You can even monitor the temp and speed using the Samsung Magician App. On the Desktop photo, you’ll see the two red rectangular shapes just right of the RGB ram stacked one above the other and the second photo is the Samsung Magician app. Definitely worth the money if you’re looking to upgrade.

The Samsung 990 PRO 4TB is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to internal SSDs. Whether you're a gamer, content creator, or just someone looking to future-proof your setup, this drive delivers on all fronts. Speed & Performance Thanks to PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe technology, the 990 PRO offers incredible read/write speeds (up to 7,450 MB/s read and 6,900 MB/s write). Boot times, app launches, and file transfers are virtually instantaneous. You can feel the speed difference compared to older Gen 3 drives or even some other Gen 4 options. Massive 4TB Storage With 4TB of space, it comfortably handles large game libraries, 4K+ video projects, and massive media files without breaking a sweat. Perfect for professionals working with huge datasets or gamers who hate uninstalling titles to make room for new ones. Thermal Efficiency Samsung’s Heatsink model (if you get that version) keeps temps well-managed, even under heavy loads. It stays cool and quiet, which is a huge plus for long gaming or rendering sessions. Easy Installation & Software Installation is simple, especially with Samsung's Magician software. It provides firmware updates, performance benchmarks, and cloning tools. It’s very user-friendly and adds extra value to the overall package. Pros: Blazing-fast PCIe Gen 4 performance Huge 4TB capacity Excellent reliability and endurance Solid thermal control (especially with the heatsink version) Samsung Magician software is a great bonus Cons: Premium price tag (but justified by performance) Requires a motherboard with PCIe Gen 4 support to unlock full potential

The 990 PRO 4TB was an amazing upgrade for my computer, like giving your brain more room to think! It's super-fast and make my programs load in seconds and files open instantly. With 4TB of space, is grest for video editing that I do without worrying about running out of room. Although my motherboard only supports 3x4, it is backwards compatable and still seen a noticable difference. If you want your PC to feel brand new and zippy, this SSD is the way to go!

I highly recommend the Samsung 990 pro for your laptop or desktop upgrade. It's an excellent drive. Extremely fast and reliable and has a great life. Span to price ratio as well as performance device ratio. I replaced my main drive and secondary drive with these drives and am very satisfied with download speeds and game load times also the Samsung magician app allows you to tweak performance and monitor temperature as well. As health of the drive. You can also view other drives through the magician app. Buy the Samsung 990 pro you will be glad you did

As far as I'm concerned I think 4TB is a great starting point for my PC! First build for me so I wanted the most and samsung is a brand I could trust! OS is Windows 11 pro and so problems has occurred with the SSD. My Motherboard does have a nice cooling for my SSD so that too also makes it excellent! Speeds are also great too! I've been able to download my favorite games and store unity projects with ease! I recommend buying this SSD for affordability in my opinion and with 4TB i got it for a deal so that was a blessing!

Good bang for your buck, getting 7460 MB/s reads on this drive. 4TB good size for most uses.

Fast speeds and long lifespan. It works great for me. Easy to install.

Always dependable. I have used 990 Pro SSD's in so many builds. This particular stick was for my upright arcade cabinet running PC games through RetroBat. Fast read and write speeds with lots of room.

From my perspective, it's the best M.2 SSD on the market in terms of quality. The price is a bit high, but it's truly an investment that will last you at least two decades. The quality and speed are out of this world, and for gaming, it's simply perfect. If your goal is to build your dream PC, this is the one for you.

Been in system for over a month, still showing advertised speeds. This is my 5th Samsung SSD, I have a 2TB WD SN850X and can't notice the slight speed increase over that. But both brands have been super reliable through the years, but a much better price on this over 4tb WD.

I've had zero issues with this drive after nearly 1 year and copy/paste is fast with huge files. Very fast windows 11 boot time and loading games as well. 4TB fills fast with today's gaming libraries, so I'm going to buy another after this review. Battlefield 6 time :)

Quality product and easy to install. Immediately could see a difference in comouter performance.

Bought 3 of these. Love them, plenty of space for my steam library plus great speed! Recommend them!

Samsung 4 tb on sale 105$ off? Yes please. I use Samsung almost exclusively and haven’t had an issue yet. 4 years of solid service using 4 different Samsung M.2s. The speed is consistent and Samsung Magician makes it easy to maintain the M2s and keep them in great condition. It’s free btw.

This is the second one of these I bought for my gaming PC, I take a lot of back captures using windows game bar, and I have it set to 3 minutes long. Along with having a lot of games installed it takes up a lot of space. These SSDs are well worth the price, but I definitely recommend trying to buy on a sale like I have because it’s still a lot of money.

Ive owned over 5 different nvme of all sizesand samsung has aleaya stayed on top. Dont get me wtong full price is a robbery when the tech is new . The worse experience ive come across this market. Has been corsair and ghe MP510. Last about a year and had drive failure after 20tb rewriten you can see the diferent with pictures . Temperature are also very good for iterms that stay toasty and preforming high end conputers

Super quick loading good form factor going to add more later and when i build my sons computer definitely getting this.

it’s really good and fast for wat it is i enjoy the space and its nice for everything i got going on wit my pc

got an insane deal on this for about 200 bucks and put it in my Alienware r14 x2 with AMAZING results. Use Samsung Magician software for the easiest install. The speed increase from the stock 512gb ssd that is in the x14 r2 is INCREDIBLE. it is like a new laptop was born!
