Wider than iPhone 12 lens

So yes, it does give you a fisheye effect on the edges at 12mm. But either way, it is a sharp lens! I did astro and i LOVED how my timelapse came out. I love the wide angle. I can deal with the curbed edges, its not that bad, for me personally. I dont have anything bad to sag about it. If you like astro, landscape, or creative shots this is the lens for you. This lens is wider then my widest angle on my iphone 12 Oh now that I think about it, its way too expensive..

Best lens I've ever owned! Super sharp! No "fish-eye" quality to the lens, lines are straight and not curve all the way to the edges. Very short minimum focus distance!

I love wide-angles. If you do too, this is a great one to have. Very good for street photography, documentary, landscape and if you want a set to go with it add a 24-70mm a 70-200mm and a 200-600mm.

Known as one of many lenses that can photograph the sky within the darkness and it works as advertised. Sony's engineering with their digital lenses has just scratched the surface what the scientific method is capable within digital video and photography. The future for mirrorless is bright and what lies beyond the the horizon is anyone's guess.

Such a great Lens

Incredible Lens! Came from the Prime Sony 50mm f1.8 so of course this quality and focal length is a night and day difference! The Bokeh is also extra blurry. The lighting I used below for these photos was the versatile Luxli Viola 2 and I also did some light editing.

So far the lens is great! One thing I don’t love is there is no aperture ring on the actual lens. Pretty pricey to not have that imo.

Revolutionary wide angle beast

I think most photographers have been waiting for a lens with these specs for some time. Sony upped the game by creating the first 12-24mm f/2.8 lens EVER. I was initially a little worried about distortion and vignetting with such a wide lens, but they're both actually pretty minimal even wide open at 12mm. It should come as no surprise that this lens produces top image quality given that it's part of Sony's G Master lineup. Images are impressively sharp wide open at f/2.8 and obviously sharpness increases a bit by stopping down. Sony's new Nano AR II coating does an amazing job at removing ghosting and flares when shooting in difficult lighting. I was shocked at the clarity and contrast in my images when shooting into the sun. Astrophotography with this lens is a DREAM. There are very few lens imperfections; stars are sharp white dots from center to corners, which made me a very happy astro shooter. It's pretty incredible to be able to use a 20 second shutter speed without seeing any star trails. As a Sony Alpha Imaging Collective Member, I've been fortunate enough to use just about every G Master lens created, and this has become one of my favorites. Overall it completes my Sony G Master zoom trio from 12mm-200mm, and I highly recommend it if you're in the market for a fast, wide zoom.

Best Wide Zoom Available

I have been eyeing this lens since it was announced but was a little hesitant to purchase due to the cost. But it is worth every penny. I have the 16-35 G Master and the extra 4mm on the wide end make a much bigger difference than you'd think. Neither Canon or Nikon offer this fast of a lens this wide. It's amazing what Sony was able to do.

The sony 12-24 F2.8 is a great lens. The sharpness is fantastic and being able to get that extra wide, while being able to zoom in is perfect. This lens is a perfect addition to any collection of lenses. I cannot recommend it enough.
