Got it on time, a day early if I recall. Packaging was good. I used Progressive Leasing. I've used them many times before. Just make sure you make your payment on time or pay it off in 90 days and it's not a bad deal. The lens is wonderful! My first prime lens! The photos are tack sharp. I was ready to trade in my Canon M50 because I couldn't get a satisfactory picture with that kit lens. Loving the macro world. If you are worried that Macro photography will be too difficult, don't be. I have never done it but found it foolishly easy compared to my fears of it. It is very much enjoyable. A super great lens and it takes regular pictures too....they are so sharp you can shave with them LOL A two purpose lens which does both equally well....I'm sold! I only wish now that I'd gotten a lens with 2:1. Also, don't get hung up on needing auto focus. Once you start manually focusing....it is so natural and you'll never use it when doing macro work.

Ive been a fan of Tamron for a few years after picking up a used SP 17-70. This lens kinda blew my mind on the first trip. Quite fast at f2.8 but what really strikes me about this lens is the fast AF and the colors! Compared to Sigma and even Canon L lenses in my kit, the color rendering is so much better. Bokeh is what you would expect from a lens of this caliber as well, nice and soft. Tamron has done a great job with this lens series in my opinion. Love this lens.

the only reason im.rating it 4out5 is because doesnt include a tripod collar tnis would be nice. but this is a very sharp lens. i have paired this lens with my eos R as well as my R6 for the price you cant beat this lens really has stablization and is actually even sharper then the ef 100mm macro canon L believe it or not. never a issue with af either. a great lens to your kit

I wanted a macro lens got a long time. It was between this and the Canon 100mm. After viewing several reviews I landed in this one, and I’m glad. I’m learning a lot about macro photography and having a lot of fun with it.

I like the 90mm Macro Lens but when it works. The downside is that I got it for my LUMIX S5 and S1H and I’m using the Sigma MC-21 L-EF Mount Adapter and it should work but the Mount and Lens isn’t fully compatible. It’ll work sometimes but a majority of the times, the camera doesn’t detect the Aperture and it freezes every few seconds. I tested the Canon 100mm Macro with the Adapter on the Camera and it works perfectly fine. I also tried the Lens on a Canon EF Camera and that works perfectly fine. So it’s just a Compatibility issue and I would’ve expected the Lens and Mount to be compatible by now. It’s nothing new. I just gotta return and exchange the lens for the Canon version which is sadly a $600+ difference

The Tamron - SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro VC USD Optical Macro Lens for Canon EF - Black is a lens I've been looking at for some time. Thank goodness for Christmas which is a great excuse to get this wonderful lens.

Spent over a month debating on whether to spend $1299 on the canon 100mm f/2.8L or $650 on Tamron's version... Decided to go with the SP 90mm f.28 di macro VC and use the $650 towards an additional lens and so glad I did. This lens is amazing. If Canon's 100mm L is a higher quality lens, I guarantee you it's not twice the quality as the price may indicate... If the Canon is a Mercedes, the Tamron's a BMW (or Audi :p) plain and simple. I do recommend buying the TAMRON tap-in console, though, which will run you $50-$60 wherever you buy it so technically, this lens costs a little over $700.

I bought this VC enabled macro lens as a side-grade from a Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM lens primarily to gain 1:1 object magnification and close focusing ability. Image sharpness is excellent from edge to edge, and autofocus is fairly quick (on EOS 5D MK3) and relatively quiet (sounds like gentle whirring). The focus ring is very smoothly and evenly damped, and allows for precise selection. The build quality is great for the price as well.

So far, I'm really enjoying this lens. The lens is sharp and the colors are rich and vibrant. Very satisfied with this lens.

This lens is comparable to the Canon 100mm IS L macro. Except it's cheaper. The build quality feels excellent the image might actually be slightly better too. Love it and it's a no brainer at a lower price unless you really need the extra 10mm of zoom.

It didn't work well on my Canon 1ds III. It kept giving errors saying the contacts weren't clean. I ensured they were clean but to no avail. I returned it for a refund. My camera works with several other 3rd party lenses including tamron ones, so it was definitely the lens.
