Q: Is this strictly used for weighing dry food or can it be used to weigh small packages for mailing?
A: Sure you could use it for weighing packages. This scale is very small though, about the size of a dessert plate, so your package may end up covering the screen where the weight information is. No issue using this with small envelopes, anything much larger you may have issues with with weighing. Just not a lot of surface area here.
