TCL 65" A3G Review: Great Deal at Under $700

The TCL 65" A3G Designer Series TV is basically Samsung's The Frame for less money. It looks great mounted on your wall with that matte screen that makes pictures and art actually look like artwork instead of a glowing screen. At the regular $999.99 price, you're getting a decent 4K TV with Google TV for streaming, plus the FREE art library without any subscription fees. The picture quality is solid for everyday shows and movies, and customers say it's sharp and clear. If you want something that doubles as home decor when you're not watching it, this nails that aesthetic. Where it falls short is if you're really into movies or gaming. The contrast isn't the best — dark scenes won't have deep blacks like you'd get from an OLED or higher-end mini-LED TV. It's also not super bright, so it struggles a bit in a sunlit room; I make sure to keep max brightness on for all types of content. And you can't talk to it hands-free like other TCL TVs; you have to hit a button on the remote to use voice commands. Pro tip: wait for a sale. I managed to snag mine for under $700, which makes it way easier to justify. At that price, it's a no-brainer for the look alone. At full price, you might want to think twice unless the art mode is really what you're after.

PERFECT PICTURE!!! SO NICE LOOKING!!!! SO MUCH BETTER THAN SAMSUNG BECAUSE ITS ALL IN ONE! PICTURE IS SO CRISP!! The interface is really nice as well, and it lets you turn on the TV when an HDMI device turns on, so I have an AppleTV and I just turn it on and the tv comes on and the Apple TV remote controls the volume. IT DOES DOLBY VISION GREAT AND IS INSANE WITH 144GHZ GAMING WITH MY PS5!

Amazing Quality For The Price

I purchased this TV for my living room which is extremely bright and man… it did not disappoint. I own other TV’s that are 3x more expensive than this, and would put this TCL up against them any day. Not to mention it’s a picture frame TV and sits completely flush against the wall. Perfect if you want quality and form all in one package. The built in art (thats also free and included) is amazing to leave on when youre not watching anything. Looking at getting another for put Primary Bedroom. If you’re on the fence and reading reviews - get it!

Just as good, if not BETTER than the ‘high end’!

We went from a 75” TCL to the 65” TCL Portrait TV when we upgraded our living room, and I have zero regrets. The picture quality is incredibly clear and crisp. The frame adds such a nice touch, especially with the art mode – it really does look like a picture frame. We’ve had so many compliments, and people genuinely think it’s wall art. Definitely recommend it if you’re considering one. We’re so happy with this purchase!

Budget Friendly FRAME TV Dupe

Awesome to have a version that is in a more normal price range and accessible for ppl who don’t want to spend 3X as much. I think the angle of viewing is probably bette ron the frame tv tbh, but I’ve enjoyed this and it looks great in person.

The picture quality is top notch. I usually don't like backlit screens but this one is very even. Hangs like a painting. Refresh rate is awesome. Google integration is also not as annoying as some name brand TVs. Good price too!

I was between the TCL NXTvision and the Samsung frame. I thought the TCL offered more bang for the buck. the quality is good but not OLED quality but I don't game and work perfectly for TV and movies. Plus the pictures they offer are free and no subscription is needed versus the frame TV were you have to buy the pictures.
