Solid laptop with good display but small NVMe SSD
Solid laptop with a very good display that is larger than most at 16" and good color rendition. Everything works well but there is a bug that locks the display in a dim mode on waking from sleep sometimes. This clears back to normal after a reboot. The keyboard is more roomy than the average laptop and is easier to type on but it lacks dedicated numeric keypad. Comes with 16 GB of NON upgradable DRAM and a rather small 512 GB NVMe SSD. I replaced the NVMe drive with a Crucial P5 Plus 1 TB to get a reasonable amount of storage space. Internal speakers are pretty good especially if the laptop is placed on a hard surface as the speakers face down at the front of the PC body. The touch screen is nice too. Battery life seems ok and the Intel Core Ultra 5 125U seems plenty fast. It scores 17921 points on the Passmark CPU mutli-core performance test

Can't beat the value on sale
Great screen and comparable, if not better, battery life to similar laptops. I'm not giving 5 stars for battery life because I don't truly believe any laptop I've used in the past few years has had battery life that impressed me. All other factors are the same for anything that has similar specs. HP, especially the Envy line, has been treating me well, alongside Lenovo and Dell, in regards to quality and ability to hold up over time. If you like the price, it's a great pick for the specs.
