A: Update: I received a new mesh system from NETGEAR support and the new system works flawlessly in the exact same configuration. I just had defective hardware.
A: I have not had any issues. It works on all bands. I have devices on all 5,6 and 2.4 at my house. The only issues I had was when I put to many satellites in my 6,000 sf house. It works well with base and 4 satellites but if you put them to close together you will have big problems.
A: Easy enough to connect but IMO not worth it. I bought a third satellite for a total of four units - 5000 foot home as coverage and speed was not as promised. Even with 3 satellites- not great. No better than the $600 Arris I replaced, or the older ORBI before that. I’m into these for about $2500 as I also got the top line modem. A lot of dough without much to show for it.
A: Since you have no answers I will offer this. I have had a 960 satellite sitting on my back porch for a couple of years in temperatures ranging from 5F to 105F and equally wide ranges of humidity. In that time it has been reliably linked to another satellite in a family members house on the next street over. So, no promises, but unless you have a galvanized steel shed in the Texas heat, or exposure to rain, I suspect the 970 would operate properly in your shed. Good luck.
A: I have 3 satellites (4 units if you include the main one) and app shows an option to add another.
Q: Can the WPA3 be changed to WPA2? I have some devices that won't work with WPA3
A: Hi Dougie, The WPA3-Personal security standard can be changed to WPA2-PSK + WPA3-Personal in the security options section.
