It is with a caveat. I own the R15 with the 4090 configuration and it came originally with 32gb of ddr5 4800 mhz ram. If you want to upgrade to 64gb you can, but if you don't get the RAM from Dell, regardless of the speed you get (say 5200 or 5600mhz) the system is set to keep it at 4800mhz. So if you're going to purchase this rig with the idea of upgrade, remember that little tidbit. I ended up purchasing 64gb of kingston fury ram, which I thought would be compatible at the 5600 mhz I purchase, but it still only runs at 4800.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes on the specs it says its upgradable to 64 gb of ram. I will be upgrading mines soon.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can upgrade the ram but it is stuck at 4800 mhz. I’ve tried numerous brands of RAM. And yes, I tried the suggestions online to increase the RAM speed, but they did not work for me. I suspect since my build came with 4800 MHz RAM, I don’t have XMP capabilities. Forget contacting Dell support on Facebook, it is currently stuck in a loop so you can’t even get through to anyone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The motherboard i got only has 2 ram slots and they are tight. So if you can find 2x32 chips that are small enough you could upgrade to 64gb of ram. I think if you get the 4090 version the motherboard has 4 ram slots instead.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the RAM on this desktop is upgradeable. For more details on parts upgradation, we recommend contacting the Dell Technical support team for assistance after the purchase. They are available on Facebook and Twitter(@Dellcares).
