Yes, only if your device isn’t a smart device
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have purchased the plugs for items that I want to turn on and off to plug them into. They set up easy and are working well with Alexa. I have seen light switched and outlet fixtures that are comparable so you should be able to operate using these. Best Buy employees are extremely knowledgeable and have been able to answer my questions. We are new to this and are baby stepping our way!

Then you can set it up through the Alexa app or on the web at www.alexa.amazon.com. After setting the smart light bulb, you can use your echo's Alexa to turn the light on or off. You can even schedule the light to go on and off at the times you want by giving your command to Alexa.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have a smart tv, you should be able to connect to it. I have lamps plugged into an extension cord and it plugged into a smart plug. Any lighting plugged in you will need a plug unless you have the bulbs. As far as overhead goes, you will need to buy the smart bulbs that are available at Best Buy as well. They go on sale frequently so watch for that. The Echo has radio apps you can get and tell it which station you want to connect to, you can also link your Spotify account if you want to make playlist or ask for a certain song.
