Yes. When you hit the center button it brings up the menus at bottom while program is playing. To the right is options for subtitles and languages. Then just hit back up button to make menus go away.

Hoedown the top-right small button under the big oval button. It will bring up some options at the bottom such as fast foreplay if you look over to the right there are some circles the very first Circle and that grouping has a menu of options. One of the options is subtitles you can enable and disable it there.
