• The HDMI on your laptop is more than likely an HDMI out so you can't use the fire stick on it.

• Yes the wifi will work just need password and login I would suggest getting a TP-Link 300N router really cheap price get extended warranty these routers are really good and easy to hook up. Save the$6 buck a month
