Yes you can. There are a lot of videos about how to load Kodi onto the Firestick and watch streaming movies, documentaries, series, etc.. Just search on Youtube.

Fire TV is used with Amazon Prime so you get whatever content Prime gives you. It also allows you to download apps like Netflix and Sony PS Vue which offers TV packages similar to cable.
