“Does this product have more coverage in respect to iOS? I have an older iPod touch that can no longer hold an iOS over the 8th edition, and also can't connect to my existing iTunes account. Will this product help me in that regard? I miss my podcasts.”

Not sure what you mean by “coverage”. I update it whenever there is a new one for the phones, iPads, and iPods. I have software version 12.4.3, which is the latest version out. No problem with accessing iTunes, since I transferred my previous ipod’s contents backup to the new one with no trouble.
