• Not sure, I am using it with an Apple laptop which does not have an internal dvd drive. Maybe a geek squad person at Best Buy can answer.

• This external drive should connect flawlessly to your Apple desktop using any USB port. Once connected you can read or write file or burn music to the device using a blank CD. Mine worked right out of the box.
