Is the mic removable like on the Astro A40's? null

No it just flips up to turn off and you flip down to turn on the mic

...only if you want to buy another headset. So, no not removable. That said, when in the up position the mike automatically shuts off which is really a great feature AND this headset is so comfortable and light that you’ll never feel the mike there! Great luck...unless your playing against me. Ha!
