Not sure as I used it on USB3 which is does support on USB3 with a decent newer WIFI router I was able to connect 802.11AC @ 896mb. So it was zippy. USB2 actual throughput is about 1/2 of what is specified so you will likely get about 240mb/sec via USB2

I wanted to try getting the adapter away from the machine by putting it on a USB extension cord, but I didn't have an extender. I did have a USB hub with a 1m cord, so I tried plugged the hub into the Dell tower, plugged the adapter into the hub, and placed the hub about 1m away from the tower. This increased the speed 8-fold: 2-3 Mbps went up to about 24 Mbps, still 2-fold slower than what I should be able to do given my other equipment. So, I'm going to return this adapter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.On a Dell T1700 using using Xfinity Speed Test via Chrome and Windows 7, I could not get above 2 Mbps. I removed the WiFi adapter, switched to a direct cable to my network box (which provides wifi and direct cable), reran the test and got >50 Mbps. I have no idea what the problem is. I'll play a little with this, but if it can't be fixed, I'll try to return this.
