In my opinion, it will not improve the signal. If it's hidden in an area where the signal is constantly being interrupted, then any antenna you put in that same location will have the same affect. I have mine sitting on the trunk of my Goldwing. At times, when I'm riding in a country setting with lots of trees near the road, I get intermittent loss. Also, in low areas of canyons, I lose signal from the surrounding stones. All blocking the satellite. Same thing happens in my personal vehicle. My point is, location of the antenna is key. The hidden area could be blocking access to the satellite depending on which direction you're riding and what is in the surrounding areas when your riding.
