“Are they operated by soft touch or is it the mechanical switch type that tends to push the unit deeper into the ear canal.”

They have a little button on them but they still tend to slide deeper into my ear canal when operating the button to answer calls. I have recently started answering calls using my handset whuch elevates the issue for me.

They have a mechanical button which gives a click but the button is extremely soft touch and responsive. I never felt any push to ear canal due to button press

Your right! Pressing the On/Off (Answer) button pushes them deeper into your ear which hurts like heck! I already get headaches from the earpiece pain, so this just makes it really unbearable.

The volume +/- button is on top of the main arm of the earbud doesn’t effect fitment and the PLAY/PAUSE/SKIP is a soft touch on the side (BEATS logo)
