“When only using one earbud (as apparently this set let’s you do) does the audio pumping in through the one active earbud come in “mono”? Or does it switch to “stereo” thought that one active earbud?”

I’m not for sure but think it’s mono. But they still sound loud and clear

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When you have both earbuds in they are in stereo but when you take one out it becomes mono but it is a very subtle difference to the point you wouldn't notice it unless you really tried
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Simulated stereo, it’s not quite mono but not quite stereo. When you put the one ear in after the one is already on and playing music you can hear a big difference in the dynamics of sound quality.
