Will this unit work with a sump pump? for how long? null

IMO I think you'd be better off buying a 12 volt DC sump pump to run off a 12 volt battery. The efficiency of that set up should be a lot higher that converting UPS 12 volts to 120 AC to run an AC 120 V pump.

That depends on your pump. Look up its specs and how many watts it drain. My server uses ~350W and that is good for ~21min
