Hello, Thank you for your question. The 1500VA Battery Back-up System is not intended for appliances and would not be recommend for a tank less water heater.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My tankless system is a propane system and uses 120 VAC only to power the igniter and circuit board. We can have unexpected power outages and I was concerned that someone could be in the shower and instantly lose hot water while all soaped up. I use the UPS for that function. Besides being able to supply the power needed for those times, it also protected the sensitive electronics in the on-demand heater. Note that it is not appropriate to try to run an electric water heater or electric on-demand heater off it.
