• Why not the straight forward way. Connect the DVD drive to your laptop, and run either HDMI or analog picture and sound from the laptop to the TV. The laptop is now the controller, and the TV a dumb monitor. If the laptop only has a DVI output , you need a DVI to HDMI conversion cable plus the two audio cables.

• Probably not. The tv is usb does not have a drjve.. Thats why you need to plug it into a computer..
