• If your computer has a USB then this would plug into it and you could copy files to DVD from your computer. This is a DVD/cd drive burner/player.

• YES, but you would have to put in numerous CDs or DVDs and have the backup software to do it. No one really does this anymore as CDs and DVDs are really inefficient for managing a lot of data. You are better off backing up to an external USB flash drive or the cloud. Amazon has an unlimited cloud storage plan for $60/year. This is what I use for all of our home computers and laptops, for photo storage, etc.

• Yes . It connects to your USB port. You can use blank DVDs which save 4.7GB on each disk.
