If you set up a free Epson Connect account and hook the WorkForce Pro WF-3820 up to the Internet, it will still take a couple of button pushes on the front control panel to send a scanned file via email. If the person with limited technical ability has a computer, you can load the included ScanSmart software, which has a simple wizard to go through a few steps to scan and attached the scanned file to an email.
