“so i unplugged my ac for the winter and havent topuched it, i plugged it back in today since the weather change and now ALL my buttons on the system are lighting up and they wont respond and neither does using the remote.”

Look in the trouble shooting section and you should find it there. Myself I took the batteries out of the remote and with a piece of Emory cloth I cleaned terminals the put in new batteries , and the system reacted normally.
