“Is there a difference between games that are labeled "launch" versus those that do not include that name? Someone said they thought the launch version had more material in the game.”

The launch version includes a digital code for a in-game costume for your character. That’s the only difference.

It’s a marketing scheme to get you to spend more on Day 1 rather then wait a few weeks when price drops

The launch version comes with bonus armor sets for Kratos and Atreus. The regular edition does not.

Nope, The launch edition will be updated as they find errors in the game, probably other things such as the graphics will also be updated, you will not have to pay anything for it, the game will always be the same.

Launch editions usually come with some extra downloadable content as in armor in this case.
