“What if it exceeds the maximum high temperature or the minimum low temperature? I read it needs to be -4 to 104, but what if it is colder or warmer, it won't work for the time or will it malfunction etc?”

Honestly, I've had the camera in temperatures below -15 degrees F and it still functioned just fine. It's not going to break when it exceeds the minimum or maximum, it simply may or may not function.
