I am experiencing that same issues. Netflix will not play on my TV. Overall the TV is good but maneuvering through the apps is a no go.

Yes you are able to use your Google Hub control your television however you would not be able to use it to turn the television on. You can also try resetting the television and pairing again. Please perform a factory reset on the television by going to Settings>Device Preferences>Reset. The television will then shut off and after coming back on will prompt you to set up the TV like when it was just out of box.
