“Is the fan in the power supply thermostatically controlled? I just turned on my new unit and the power supply fan is not rotating. The supply is only drawing about 60w from the AC line in Windows with no apps. The computer appears to be working ok.”

IDBelieve so, Jim. Here's a link to HP's page re: this PC: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06124756. Additionally, there are free applications avail online that will examine the state of on-board fans and provide appropriate feedback. Speccy does a nice job summarizing overview of a PC's specs and operational considerations; FileHippo, CNet downloads, Piriform, and the like have this application available from secure DLers. FWIW, we have this model PC and have not experienced fan issues.
