• I’m just a consumer and cannot answer your question but be sure it’s not on extension cord plus refrigerators should be on the rated breaker size to handle the amp requirement by the manufacturer. I have mine on a 20 amp dedicated breaker.

• Can't say about an internal auto shutoff for temperature extremes, but Hixson is definitely correct: you are drawing too much power on that line for the unit. Use a dedicated connection.
