Does this kit work with Samsung note 5?: null

Yes, tho kit works very well with the Samsung note 5. With the iPhone, this kit, doesn't come with an iPhone aux accessory addition, so in order to use the microphone and the led light you have to use the extension that was given to you when you bought your phone, now if your like me, I've had to buy at least four extensions since I've bought my IPhone 10 months ago.

It should as long as the lens is close enough for the clip on to reach over it.
