Can this be operated without using an app? null

Yes . I just turn it on at the machine and away it goes. No app necessary.

Yes I just charge the battery. Put the battery in the mopper, fill with water. put the pad on the bottom. Put the mopper in the room to be cleaned in a corner, press the start button and it does the rest. It cleans the floor thoroughly and goes back to it's starting position when it is finished. Love it! If I don't want it to leave that room I put a small barrier up or shut the outgoing door. Hope this helps!
