Yes, this will work with a 2012 MacBook Pro as long as you are on MacOS 10.8 - 10.13.3 or 10.14 and later. It offers both mirror and extended modes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works great for my MacBook Air 2017. In clamshell I have two monitors that allow me to work on different applications (no mirroring). If I leave the Mac screen open I have three different screens that all allow me to work on different applications. I recall I did have to change system preferences, which allows for several display options based on your preference.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It didn’t work. For some reason my computer, HP pro book, picked it up as a device but the monitors that I hooked It up to didn’t come up. I didn’t try it with a Mac.
