“Got my dad this laptop for Christmas. It appears it has a dead usb c port. The designated charging port does nothing, the lower port for data allows a charge and the charge port is dead (no data either). Just pulled it out of the box. How do I fix it?”

The Lenovo Yoga 7i 15 model number 82BJ0001US, has a dedicated Thunderbolt 4.0 charging port on the left side of the computer. There is an electrical plug icon next to the proper power in port for charging the computer. Be sure you are using the right power in port. If the battery has more than a 80-percent charge, the battery saver software will trickle charge the computer to conserve the battery life span. To check for proper charging, allow the battery level to drop below 50-percent, then plug the AC adapter/charger that is included with the computer into the proper power in port.
