“I just set this monitor up and connected it to my HP elite book using the HDMI that came with it. It’s duplicating my laptop screen, and in the display settings does not give the option to extend, yet it has worked with other external monitors. any ideas”

If you are using Windows 10 then try the windows key + P (this is the keyboard shortcut for project). Then you should see all your screen options you are looking for!! Note the windows Key is on your elite book on the left of the spacebar between alt and fn keys. Hope this helps you!

The option to extend a monitor in the display settings on your HP Elite is not a function of the LG 24'' Class Full HD IPS LED Monitor with AMD FreeSync (23.8'' Diagonal), Model # 24ML44B-B. You will need to contact HP for assistance with why the option is not appearing for the monitor...^IFV
