“I just got this washer and have done 6 loads of Normal cycle loads. Normal cycle time ran anywhere from 1 hour to 1 hour 40 minutes. This seems excessively long for a cycle. Is this normal? Is there a feature to shorten the cycle time?”

I understand that. We found the same thing, so we tried the 15 min. wash on clothes that were not stained and that setting works well for us.

LG Washers take variables such as cycle selected, the load size, load weight, fabric types, fabric thickness, amount of suds, water temperature and more into consideration. These variables may extend the cycle duration as it may require more water, take more time to absorb the water and take longer to drain and spin. The required water pressure for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. 12-Cycle Front-Loading Smart Wi-Fi Washer with Steam and 6Motion Technology - Graphite Steel, Model # WM3700HVA, is between 14.5 PSI and 116 PSI. If the water pressure to the washer is at the lower end of this range, it will take longer for the unit to fill. That will extend the wash cycle time. It is not unusual for a cycle time to last up to 2 hours, depending on the cycle and options selected. Larger loads and loads made of heavier, thicker fabric types require more water, take longer to absorb the water and tale longer to drain and spin. The washer features an Auto Suds Removal feature. This feature activates if the washer detects excessive suds in the unit. It it is automatically added without selecting any option, the washer will drain and add water to dilute the concentration of detergent. Each activation of this feature adds approximately 12 minutes to the cycle and it is possible for this to be activated multiple times. When a cycle is selected, the default time for that cycle is displayed. This time will change as modifiers or options are selected. Once the Start/Pause button is pressed, the washer will measure the size of the load. The estimated time may change once the load size has been measured..^IFV
